Meet Alexis Dupree
Dr. Alexis Dupree (PhD) ignites change within people and is a love-driven organizational consultant, educator, artist, and well-being advocate. Combining her three life values — love, creativity, and joy — she co-creates change with people and the organizations they run.
Dupree believes that people managers must adopt a human-centered approach to change management in order to promote psychological safety and well-being at work. She brings a diverse work experience to the table, drawing inspiration from social-emotional learning and behavior intervention curriculums; Adlerian Theory of Psychology and I/O Psychology; mindfulness pedagogy and somatic experiencing; and agile start-up culture.
Dupree credits her calling to lead a social impact career to experience as an AmeriCorps VISTA service volunteer in her hometown of Kansas City, MO. Focusing on capacity-building in education, this experience broadened her understanding of how a community operates holistically, shining light on the various day-to-day barriers marginalized communities (i.e., city employees and families) go through to survive.
“I aim to upend systems of harm that lead to toxic work environments, distress, employee burnout, and poor career mobility–especially for Black women.”
–Alexis Dupree, PhD
Our Why
Despite their academic attainments, research shows that Black women are more likely to experience discrimination and have to take more career risks to achieve success than others. Regardless of their social-work location, Black women and other women of color are deserving of a career that promotes a healthy work-life balance.
Alexis Dupree Consulting (ADC) believes in partnering with organizations in-favor of improving the career progression for women leaders, with emphasis on promoting Black and Brown women of color to people management and leadership positions. A significant part of eradicating the current system and practice of injustice requires a close look at workplace policies, strategies, and behaviors that keep marginalized women out of the leadership seat.
ADC takes a holistic approach to change management and organizational cultural design. Through intentional coaching, research and analysis, and our collaborative discourse, we strategically design change management plans that improve company climate and culture. We oppose a “deficit-based” mindset, and help teams move toward their ideal culture by building upon existing strengths.

Our Philosophy
People run companies, not machines. We aim to explicitly co-create change with leaders who share the same or similar radicalness that is the spectrum of social justice. Well-being and anti-Blackness is the praxis of our work. While we remain committed to amplifying the voices of Black women, we are committed to co-creating with any company who embodies our shared values in the fight of liberation through workforce change.
